Archbishop Eric Michel opted to use symbols of his life, French heritage and St. Francis Ministries. The cardinal is used for the President Bishop, who is an Archbishop at EMMI-FAICL.
For his motto, Archbishop Eric Michel adopted the phrase:" Simper Christo Fidelis," meaning "Always Faithful to Christ."
The shield means protection against evils and falsities, in that as regards the Lord, it signifies protection, and as regards man, trust in the Lord's protection.

Rev Eric Michel was ordained on Dec 7, 1988. as a bi-vocational minister he operated a small group of 11 clergymen in Gatineau. Their task:" Research".
The Revd. Eric Michel has two Code of Arms: one as a Bishop, ordained on November 30th, 2010, and one after being Elected Archbishop at the January 2011 Symposium and installed on May 6 of the same year. This one above was modified to reflect the Franciscan Ecclesiastical Affiliation Charter in 2022. The Tau replace the four IAoc Denominations.

She was the President of the House of Bishops from 2017 to 2020, she resigned due to illness.
